Torah Study | Emor 5784

May 18 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm PDT

We hope you will join our Celebration of the Universe and Torah Study on Saturday, May 18th with Rabbi Cat Zavis.

We’re thrilled to share that we are once again holding Shabbat services and Torah study in person (in addition to on Zoom). If you are in the Bay Area, please join us in person when you can. We will have vegetarian potluck meals after our Torah study to deepen our connection with one another. If you are able, please bring a vegetarian dish to share with others.

To obtain the Zoom link to join us online or the address where we meet in person (a new location very centrally located in Emeryville, only a short walk from the MacArthur Bart Station), please register here.

We will begin our Shabbat service at 9:30am PT with meaningful prayers, balancing the awe of being alive with the call in our tradition for radical transformation of our world.

Then we will turn to our Torah study at 10:30am PT. This week we will read this week’s parsha Emor and next week’s parsha Behar. These readings provide guidelines and ideals for how we are to treat the stranger and the needy and what our connection is to the land.

We will explore, among other things, how we can reconcile the mandates in our Torah and our actions today.

Registration is FREE for both Zoom and in-person participation.
