Torah Study | Achrei Mot 5784

May 4 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm PDT

We hope you will join our Celebration of the Universe and Torah Study on Saturday, May 4th with Rabbi Cat Zavis and Musical Director Ami Goodman. We are excited to let you know that if you are in the Bay Area, you can join us in person! We will still be on Zoom as well.

If you would like to join us in person, please register below.  We will have a vegetarian potluck Shabbat meal after services. If you are able, please bring a vegetarian dish to share with others.

We will begin our Shabbat service at 9:30am PT with meaningful prayers, balancing the awe of being alive with the call in our tradition for radical transformation of our world.

Then we will turn to our Torah study at 10:30am PT. We will read this week’s parsha, Achrei Mot. This parsha teaches us about the Yom Kippur service and the purification process needed for both individuals and the mishkan (sanctuary) itself, scapegoating, and more.

How do individuals purify themselves and what is necessary for community purification? In times like these when we are witnessing untold collective sins committed by the State of Israel in the name of our people, what kind of purification might we engage in?

We’ll explore these questions and concepts together on Shabbat.

Registration is FREE for both Zoom and in person participation.

Please register here to receive the Zoom link.

Please register below to join us in person.

We’d love to have you join us!
