Only for registered members of Beyt Tikkun. We start with Shabbat service. Then we will have a meal together and celebrate Purim in a joyously silly way. Costumes welcome! RSVP required.
Friday--February 26, 2010 Members' Dinner, Shabbat & Purim Celebration 7:00pm to 10:00pm 1924 Cedar Street in Berkeley
Friday, February 26th we will be holding one of our big highlights of the year, the annual Beyt Tikkun Members' Dinner. This is no pot-luck, but a fully catered meal lovingly prepared for you by Carmencita Lozano and Will Pasley. Seats are limited and RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. You MUST reserve no later than Monday February 22. You may reserve your space by sending an email to: lauriesalen@aol.com.
Our special annual members' shabbat will be especially joyous this year because we will also be celebrating the holiday of Purim. Like many of our holidays, it commemorates the survival of the Jewish people in the face of oppression. For the purim celebration, we are told to eat, and drink, and celebrate to the point that we can't distinguish between the righteous Mordicai and the wicked Hamin. Costumes and noise-makers are encouraged.
This event will be held at the Berkeley Fellowship of Universalists at 1924 Cedar St. off of Bonita in Berkeley. Click here for directions. Please note that this particular event is for registered members of Beyt Tikkun Synagogue and not open to the general public. If you have any questions about your membership status, you can ask us by sending an email to shul@tikkun.org.
