The fast begins at 6:30 pm and goes until 7:45 pm on Wednesday night. The goal of the fast is to direct your attention to the process of inner work—and it is that work of transforming ourselves, not the fast, that is the main issue for Yom Kippur. If the fast distracts you from repentance and inner transformation, stop fasting and pay attention to the inner work, please!
The service begins at 9:00 am. Separate children's service at 11:00am; Torah service at about 11:00 am Yizkor and Rabbi’s teaching will begin between 12:00 noon and 2:00pm; Break from 3:30 pm to 5:30pm to have time alone and to focus on inner transformation.There will also be speakers and workshops in this period. Minhah at 5:30pm,along with reading and discussion of the Book of Jonah, Ne'ilah and last moments of repentance and inner transformation at 6:30pm. Vegetarian break-the-fast potluck at 8:00 pm.
